President's Letter

Happy New Year!

As we step into 2025, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity to serve as your chapter president this year. It’s truly an honor to lead a group of such talented and dedicated professionals.
 
First, I’d like to acknowledge the incredible work of our outgoing president, Emily Ford! Her welcoming energy and efforts to grow our chapter have left an inspiring legacy. Thank you, Emily, for setting such a high standard and for paving the way for our continued success.
 
As we launch into the new year, our chapter’s goals for 2025 are:

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season filled with joy, rest, and time with loved ones. January is often seen as a month of fresh starts, and it’s the perfect time to set intentions for a successful year ahead. As the saying goes, “January is full of potential, filled with chances to make today better than yesterday.”
 
Thank you all for your continued dedication to this chapter. Together, I know we’ll accomplish amazing things in 2025.

DFW RIMS is thrilled to announce exciting opportunities for college students to attend RISKWORLD, the annual RIMS Conference, this Spring!

Selected students will receive awards that include:

• Conference attendance at the student rate (students must be RIMS members)
• Round-trip airfare
• Hotel accommodations
• An honorarium for expenses

Community Impact

Update for 2025

• SWAG for Schools: We successfully delivered donations to two local Title 1 schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Additionally, we collected pallets of donations previously gathered in Orlando at WCI. DFW RIMS with partner SWAG for Schools remains committed to supporting local schools with ongoing donations.

• Minnie’s Food Pantry: DFW RIMS collected food donations to support Minnie’s Food Pantry. Our commitment to this cause will continue throughout 2025.

• Viola’s House: We are excited to announce that DFW RIMS received an anonymous donation for Viola’s House for 2025. Our support for Viola’s House will also continue in the coming year.

• Future Initiatives: DFW RIMS has several new initiatives planned for 2025 to further our mission and impact.
