President's Letter

Where Purpose Meets People: Celebrating the Heart of DFW RIMS

There are moments in this profession when I am reminded, without a shadow of a doubt, just how blessed I am to serve this incredible community. Leading DFW RIMS is one of those blessings. Every time I walk into a room filled with our members - risk managers, students, partners, volunteers, and friends - I feel that same sense of gratitude that has carried me throughout my career.

This chapter is more than an organization. It is a family. And stepping into this role, I am humbled by the trust you’ve placed in me and inspired by the passion each of you brings to the risk management profession.

Over the past year, I have witnessed moments that made my soul smile, moments where our community showed up for one another, lifted each other higher, and poured into the next generation with open hearts. Whether it was watching students light up during a campus visit, seeing our Rising Risk Professionals find their footing, or standing alongside our dedicated volunteers at service events, I felt the same joy I’ve felt on every meaningful step of my journey.

To our board, committee leaders, and volunteers: your unwavering support is the heartbeat of this chapter. You show up early, stay late, and give generously of your time and talents. You make this work not only possible, but joyful.

To our university partners, faculty champions, and the brilliant students who remind us why the future of this profession is so bright, thank you for welcoming us into your classrooms, your programs, and your dreams. You inspire us more than you know.

To our sponsors and industry partners: your commitment to education, mentorship, and community impact continues to open doors for so many. We are grateful for every opportunity you help create.

And to every member of DFW RIMS, whether you’ve been with us for decades or just joined, thank you for being part of this journey. Your energy, your curiosity, your leadership, and your willingness to grow together make this chapter truly special.

As we step into a new year, I am filled with excitement for what lies ahead. We will continue to elevate our programming, expand our reach, invest in emerging leaders, and strengthen our presence across the region. But most importantly, we will continue to lift each other up: because that is who we are.

I came into this role hoping to serve, but as always, this community has already given me far more than I could ever give back. And for that, I am deeply, deeply thankful.
