More than Luck, Teamwork | DFW RIMS March 2025 Print

President's Letter

More than Luck, Teamwork.

I am inspired by the strength, resilience, and passion of our risk management community. Every day, each of you contributes to creating safer, more secure, and more sustainable organizations, work that aligns deeply with the broader RIMS mission to empower risk professionals across the globe.

Our DFW RIMS legacy stretches back to 1957, built on a foundation of education, engagement, and advocacy for the global risk community.  That commitment remains as strong as ever. This year, we continue to push forward with our strategic goals: expanding our risk management outreach, enriching educational offerings, and building positive momentum through active involvement and volunteer engagement.

Our chapter thrives because of you, your willingness to learn, connect, and share your expertise. Whether through attending our luncheons, participating in committees, mentoring emerging professionals, or showing up for community involvement initiatives, your engagement fuels our mission. Together, we foster a culture that promotes professional growth, strengthens our local networks, and elevates the image of risk management as a career of choice.

Looking ahead, I challenge each member to take one step further this year:

  • Invite a colleague to an event.
  • Share your insights at a roundtable.
  • Volunteer on a committee.
  • Mentor a rising professional.

Every small step can have a big impact!

As opportunities continue to unfold through our luncheons, workshops, scholarships, and community initiatives, I encourage you to stay engaged, stay curious, and stay connected. The strength of DFW RIMS lies in the collective energy we bring to advancing our profession, supporting one another, and contributing to the future of risk management across our region.

Thank you for your dedication and for being part of this remarkable community. I am honored to serve alongside you and look forward to all we will accomplish together in the year ahead.

With appreciation and enthusiasm,

Catrina Gilbert
